Assistant Cathedral Accountant

To meet the growing demands of our audit processes and the need for more in-depth internal financial reporting, we are expanding the Finance Team at Salisbury Cathedral. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual, preferably ACCA or ACA qualified (or part-qualified), to work alongside our Cathedral Accountant and help balance the team’s workload.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting key financial functions, including year-end audits, financial reporting, budgeting, and overall finance operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and growth of Salisbury Cathedral, working in close collaboration with both the Cathedral Accountant and CFO.

Closing date Thursday 28th November 12 noon

Interviews will be held w/c 9th December.

This role is offered on a full time 5 days a week or 4 day a week basis, 28 to 35 hours a week. Options can be explored at interview.

Salary up to £36,000.

Head of Operations and Events (12 month contract)

Salisbury Cathedral welcomes visitors and communities from all walks of life. We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations and Events to join us for a year during the post-holder’s career break.

Your job will be to ensure the smooth running of our non-liturgical operations and events, working within a supportive team dedicated to enriching the cultural and community life of the cathedral.

If you have extensive operational and managerial experience of sourcing and delivering events, strong leadership and people-management skills, experience of working with security, health and safety and emergency procedures, excellent communication skills, a respect for the values and mission of the cathedral and a positive, creative and practical approach, we want to hear from you.

Freelance Visual Arts Curator

Are you passionate about visual arts and inspired by the unique beauty of sacred spaces? We’re seeking a talented Freelance Visual Arts Curator to collaborate with us in curating exceptional exhibitions within our stunning Cathedral setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and curate thought-provoking exhibitions that resonate with our community and our diverse audiences and enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the Cathedral.
  • Research and select artworks that sympathise with the scales of the spaces of the Cathedral and Close.
  • Collaborate with artists, galleries, and local partner organisations to source and organize exhibitions that reflect the Cathedral’s mission and values.
  • Work with Cathedral colleagues to ensure the works are accessible to the widest possible audience through interpretation, community and educational activities, talks and tours.
  • Lead on the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions, ensuring they are harmonious with the sacred environment.

Experience and Background:

  • Proven experience in curating visual arts exhibitions.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary art trends and their relevance to sacred spaces.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while respecting the unique nature of the Cathedral.

 Salisbury Cathedral School Minibus Driver

Part-time / Term Time

Salisbury Cathedral school are looking to appoint an early morning Minibus Driver, Monday to Friday, 06:45am – 08:45am, term time only.  You will provide a school transport service to children attending the school, being responsible for the health and safety, comfort and welfare of pupils whilst being transported in the vehicle.
