Simon Armitage: Blossomise

Dates
19:30, at Salisbury Cathedral

A special evening of poetry with the Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage

Please join the Poet Laureate for a very special evening of readings to celebrate the publication of Blossomise, as he brings new perspectives and energy to a timeless poetic subject.

From a crashed Ford Capri wrapped around the immovable trunk of a cherry tree, to saplings flourishing among skyscrapers and urban sprawl, the fizz and froth of the annual blossom display is explored here both as an exuberant emblem of the natural world and a nervous marker of our vulnerable climate.

Now a Sunday Times bestseller, Blossomise was commissioned by the National Trust and is illustrated by Angela Harding.

Armitage is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and has received an Ivor Novello for his songwriting. www.simonarmitage.com
There will be a book signing after this event, kindly provided by Waterstones Salisbury. Please note payment is by card only.
