Explore our earth and the planets and stars in a fun-filled activity day for families, including a spectacular show inside Winchester Science Centre’s mobile planetarium.
Included in general cathedral admission:
From 9:30 you will have the opportunity to explore Salisbury Cathedral’s art exhibition Our Earth, which focuses on climate change and the environment. Throughout the day you’ll get crafty decorating your very own binoculars to help on a planet-themed scavenger hunt around the cathedral! You’ll take a peek at a special book of Astronomy from the library… and at 12:15 you’ll get introduced to the magical world of Holst, The Planets on our famous Willis Organ.
You do not need a ticket to the planetarium show ‘We are Guardians’ to take part in the activities included in general admission.

Winchester Science Centre is bringing a 360-degree immersive Planetarium dome to Salisbury Cathedral for a fascinating day of shows! Using satellites, this unique experience will look at links between human activities and climate change in an engaging 45 minute session.
Suitable for Key Stage 2 and 3.  The 10:30 show is exclusively for visitors with access requirements.
All attendees must have a Cathedral entry ticket to access the event, either by purchasing a ticket online or at the Welcome Desk before the event / on the day.
If you are a resident or hold an annual Cathedral entry ticket, proof must be provided for access to the Planetarium event on the day. This must be ID with your postcode on the receipt/entry PDF ticket within the last 12 months.
