RADIO BBC2 RECORDED "AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS"

BBC Radio 2 recently came to the Cathedral to record At the Foot of the Cross for broadcasting at 7.30pm on Good Friday. Hosted by Aled Jones and featuring the ever-popular Karl Jenkins. The BBC Concert Orchestra came together with the voices of Salisbury Festival Chorus in front of a capacity audience in the Cathedral to perform selected movements from Jenkins' Mass for Peace: The Armed Man, his Requiem, and Stabat Mater. The programme will also be interspersed by the drama of the Bible's passion story and selected reflections from award-winning writer Sara Maitland's new meditation "Stations of the Cross".
